The lack of replies was worrisome, dark thoughts passing through Oddey's mind. 'Did the fire get to them already? Was his search pointless?' Another whine rose from his throat, steps growing more and more hesitant as the growing smell of smoke and ash began to burn his nose. He told himself he would only continue forth for a little while longer, and if he caught sight of any flames, he would turn tail and go back towards the lake.
He let loose yet another howl, continuing to spread the same message to those who could hear him.

He breathed out a sigh as Fells familiar voice echoed back to him. Without another thought, Oddey spun around and ran back towards the cliff he had once found, pausing along the edge of the rocky ledge to see if he could spot a way down. The paths were uneven and possibly dangerous, but it was better then facing the fire. Noting the way down, he waited to see if Fell would reach him in time.

"Oh thank the lord." He said with a sigh, relieved that at least one wolf had reached the cliff as well. "I'm fine, so far, but I'm afraid that if we don't get down to that water we won't be." He added, motioning to the body was water at the base of the cliff. "I think I spotted a way down, but I don't know how easy it'll be."

The wolf followed Fell, step by step, making sure to match his foot placement with hers. The descent was slow and quiet, Oddey trying to concentrate on the task at hand instead of the growing smoke that billowed closer. His gaze flicked to the lake, it's presence motivating him to push past the burning ache in his pads and the burning sensation in his chest from inhaling too much smoke.

Oddey released a small string of curses as his body collided at the bottom of the cliff, a searing pain radiating from his right forelimb. Pulling himself off the ground, he winced as he looked at his rapidly swelling ankle. "Well that's not helpful." He groaned, gently testing his weight on the sprained limb. "Are you alright?" He then asked Fell, eyeing the damsel with worry.

The male nodded and followed suit, limping slightly each time he placed the injured paw down. The pain was irritating, but Oddey knew they couldn't stop now.
"Do you know where we are? I don't recognize this place." He called to the Arch, curious as his gaze observed the open landscape.

It didn't take much to convince the male that they weren't completely out of the woods yet, for there could be others using the lake as a safe heaven as well. Ears flicked and stood tall on his head, swiveling around as his nose twitched with each inhale. Thankfully, the smoke concentration had decreased, so the burning in his chest began to subside. His uneven gait was had to control with the injured paw, but he tried his best to keep quiet.
