Playing with the Dice Empty Playing with the Dice

What they do
The Dice control the outcomes for many things. They control, the probability of a hunt being successful, winning or losing a duel, what animal to hunt, what animal will attack, etc.

I feel controlled...
The dice only control the physical aspects of ones character. Members can still wonder about the areas without rolling dice. Members can also talk to others. The dice are mainly for hunting, healing, and dueling outcomes; this also includes the encounters with predators.

When to roll the Dice
There is a list. Rather than spell it all out, our Game Tester has done a wonder job of creating topics as example of certain circumstances when you roll certain dice. View the Dice Examples forum for more details. Hunting and Dueling are further explained in their respective guides.

The Different Dices
Below are the dices we use with descriptions of what they are used for and brief examples of when to use them. Dice can be added or removed at any time.

Predator Dice - This dice is rolled to determine what predator you will face such as a Cougar of Grizzly Bear.
When to roll: Choosing whom to battle while exploring, Training battles

Prey Dice - This dice determines what prey your wolf will hunt when you decide to do a hunt. Larger animals will require a larger group of wolves, be prepared!
When to roll: Prep for a hunt, exploring

Fate Dice - This dice has many uses. This dice is rolled when your wolf does any sort of action like sniffing, searching for something or someone, sensing a predator, stalking prey, searching for prey, whether or not an attack was successful, etc.
When to roll: Hunt outcomes, attack outcomes, digging outcomes, etc

Attack Dice - This dice control how hard a hit to gave to your enemy in a hunt, duel or fight against predator or fellow pack member.
When to roll: Duel, battles, hunts

Health Check - Members roll this dice when at their yearly check up, or healing from a recent injury caused by a hunt, duel or battle against a predator. Even though your character takes a health potion, however much of their health is regained is determined by the dice. Health checks may also be conducted before certain events.
When to roll: Yearly health Check, recent illness, injury etc.

Skills Dice - You roll 6 of this dice to determine the ability numbers for your character. You only roll this dice one time per character.
When to roll: Getting your characters starter ability scores.

Digging Dice - This dice is used when your character is searching for something such as pieces of buried meat, feathers, moons, apples, ability points, and other various things. In a time of need, you may want to use this dice!
When to roll: Exploring, anytime.

Some dice are paired. Sometimes members will roll an Attack Dice and the Fate Dice to determine if they made a hit, and how strong their attack is. The only dices to be paired are PreyXfate or predatorXfate.

Determining the Outcome
After you roll certain dice, a number is shown. That number helps determine the probability of the reason the dice were rolled. This is done by a method only the Game Master(Fell) knows about. This keeps things interesting and unpredictable.
