An uneven set of footsteps echoed through the scorched paradise. Flakes of ash danced all around her like snow, but the setting was quite the opposite of the latter.

The scent of fire was embedded into her nostrils; what she had called home resembled the underworld that she once feared. It was like each step was bringing her one step closer to her worse fear, or a monster that would get Amatullah a run for her money.

It was under Fell’s direction that Amatullah would search for any wolves that were in dire need for shelter. Pack lands were scorched to crisps, and with the speed of each tree’s ignition, wolves of all packs scattered to shelter. If there was anyone needed aid or a new pack, they were certain to lend them service in exchange for loyalty.

Why she sent the only wolf with a limp was a mystery.

As Amatullah dozed away her exhaustion, there was a slight warmth against her body. Her eyelids opened revealing Roan, and she sighed while pressing her head near his body. It wasn’t until the sound of an approaching creature nearing. She raised her head and glanced at Roan for instruction.

Amatullah could see the silhouettes with ease; their figures bounding towards the duo with incredible speed. While she had little energy or will to fight, something thought that pleasing Roan would help her in the long-run. The fae didn’t want to leave the brute in the dust. She looked to Roan and smiled, willing to comply with whatever he choose for her.

Amatullah glued herself to Rona’s side, taking in mind what the black behemoth said to him. It was no wonder the lad wandered away from their leader’s ruling. Her thoughts rattled in her head; this was so unlike her. Why was she risking her life? Her eyes darted to Roan’s anger stricken face, she disliked him but also cared slightly. Before she could grasp her actions, Amatullah launched herself at the ebony brute. Her fangs interlocked with his nape, every so often snapping her chops to inch closer to her windpipe. The canine thrashed around to get the scrawny she-wolf off, but lengthy paws held herself in place during the wrangle.

Amatullah sprung from his grasp and cling to his ear, wiggling about to make her opponents lose balance for Roan to step in.

Amatullah dropped to the terrain with a thud, a cold aud embedded into her fangs. To her dismay, the war belonged to her opponent who lay on the ground weeping in agony. Roan and her opponents stood about staring at her with shock, but adrenaline pushed Amatullah to pursue further.
She pried her attacker’s mouth open, dropping his own ear into his jowls before stepping on his maw. “Eat this,” She spat, glancing between the leader and his followers. She felt a bold move would end this: Amatullah cocked his head to the side and clamped onto his windpipe. Her eyes tore into her other attackers, waiting for a reaction.

No one dared to react, knowing their leader would die if they did. It was only Roan who spoke; to her surprise, he was letting them free to attack him another day. The brute nudged Amatullah off the ebony canine who snarled at her before bounded to the woods.
Amatullah didn’t exchange in grimaces; her eyes just acting as daggers as he ran away.

Next she looked to Roan before looking at the ground, “I’m sorry, I don’t know what came over me,”

Amatullah sighed and returned to the pond where she lapped up water quickly to ease a burning throat, and splashing water onto her face. She has never acted so rash, so aggressive. The lass was disturbed, but knew she did the right thing to protect her friend. Her green eyes glanced behind her to where Roan remained, then looked away slowly.

She still wasn’t sure if he was a friend or foe; he had been keeping her company this long, but wasn’t sure why.

She smiled softly at the lad before approaching him with a confident strut, and placed her head against his body gently, almost in defeat.

“Can we go lay back down? Somewhere that we won’t be bothered by your friends?” Amatullah spoke softly while chuckling quietly as she spoke. She hoped that the brute wouldn’t take offense to her joke, but her request was whole hearted as her body ached more than ever.

Amatullah nodded in agreement; they would have an advantage on the hill if more of them returned. She limped behind him, her eyes wandering around in boredom. Then the hill came into view and she began to grow hot with nervousness. His reassurance was kindly received, but Amatullah shook her head.
“Let me set the pace, and you can stay behind me. You can be my support if I lose balance, or when I need an extra push.”
With those words spoken, Amatullah began the trek. Each step carefully placed, grasping onto anything solid for extra support.
